How to Blog for Business
The potential your blog has to bring business to your website is limitless! If you are able to reach a large audience with your words then you instantly have a huge pool of people who are interested in what you have to say. These same people more than likely have an interest in your product too as this will generally be related to the topic of your blog.
By feeding your audience useful and interesting information, they will consider you a reliable source and continue to visit your website. Once a blog reader becomes a customer, it is likely that they will continue to rely on your knowledge to guide them through further purchases. A well put together blog will also establish your brand as an authority within your industry. This of course builds your reputation and improves the trust that your customers, and potential customers, have in you.
One of the biggest mistakes that business bloggers make is flooding their blog with useless or irrelevant information. They do this because they believe that they need to be posting something without really considering the true purpose of doing so. When putting together your content strategy you should always try to keep your brand in mind. Who you are and what you are trying to do with your business will always form the basis of your blog content. You should also try to express why your products or services are better than your competitors. When people are shopping around they are looking for signs of better quality in each business that they consider. You have to stand out in order to do this and it helps to know who your target customers are in order to achieve this.
Spend time time identifying your target customers and break them down into different persona groups. You will then be able to research further into their common behaviours and needs when it comes to your product. You can use this information to structure your blog posts accordingly. When it comes to promoting your content on social media you will also be able to use this information to target your adverts. This means that if you have created an article for a specific persona then you can make sure that the people who associate with that persona see it online! This is a great way to reach the people you want without wasting resources on those who do not fit into this category.
This of course is just the start! Check back next week for more tips on how to blog for business.
