Shouting Louder on Social Media
Social media continues to be a fantastic tool for businesses to promote their products and services, but it also continues to become increasingly crowded. For this reason, it can often be incredibly difficult to get your message out in front of the relevant audience without spending money on paid advertising.
Statistics show that every 60 seconds approximately 277,000 tweets are sent, 2,460,000 Facebook posts are made, 216,000 photos get shared to Instagram and 3,472 images are pinned on Pinterest. Additionally within these 60 seconds, 1400 new blog articles are posted online and 72 hours of new video content appears on YouTube. When we consider these facts it is easy to see how getting views to your content can be problematic!
So, how can you get your voice heard and persistently shout louder and better than your competitors?
Build a Community
Focusing on the community aspect of your social media efforts is arguably one of the best ways to create serious and sustainable interest in what you have to say. When you have a genuine following of people who are excited about your products and services then you instantly have access to people who are happy to share your message. This can be a long process. It involves paying attention to your followers and always striving to provide them with something of value. When you succeed at this, lead generation will naturally follow.
Stick to Your Strategy
As with most things in life, you are not going to succeed on social media without a solid strategy to work from and a plan to implement it. Take the time to research your target market and really discover what it is that they respond to best. With a comprehensive understanding of your current and potential customers, you will be able to target your marketing to different groups directly and enhance your results. One of the best ways to show your followers that you have their interests in mind is to provide content that serves to answer questions that they had not yet thought to ask. You can do this by explaining a product or service, or by exploring a new trend or development that is relevant to your business. Always offer fresh insight and do not be afraid to be opinionated. Disagreements often drive the best interactions from customers!
Keep it Creative
Whilst you are implementing your strategy be careful not to become boring and repetitive. This most commonly happens when a company starts sending out sales messages that simply aim to drive people to their website. If you do this, then your existing followers will soon become irritated and it will not gain you any worthwhile new followers either!
